I am at work, where it is June 1st and the HEAT IS ON. WTF? This in a building where my office is always cold. It is 84 degrees in here, and the windows are not openable. So, your library is just as bad, huh? Our poor books and computers, dealing with such fluctuations in temperature. I am still optimistic about our new building, but cautiously so, knowing the fate of other new buildings on campus....

I have the opposite problem in the buildings where I teach summer school. The AC has two options, "on" and "off". "On" usually means about 68 degrees. So when it's 105 degrees outside, coming in and out can be quite a shock to the system. But "off" is not an option to be contemplated at all, so when the kids complain, I tell them bring a jacket.
I'm usually OK because I pace when I teach, plus, at the age I am... heh

I definitely would have been complaining if they had had the AC on when it was 55 degrees this morning, so it seems I can't win. I am the Resident Complainer of Temperature in the Library--it is too cold in the winter and also too cold in the summer--at least in my part of the building. I keep a heavy hooded sweater at work year round, which is sometimes used as an afghan when used in conjuction with my other sweater. People laugh, and then ask, "Melissa, are you cold?"

I'm so sorry that the move to the new library won't happen now. *comforting hugs*
