Costume Con 26 - Historical Masquerade and Panel

Apr 30, 2008 20:37

I am now home from Costume Con 26. It was brilliant, despite the initial hiccup of my managing to lose my mobile/cell phone!

Detailed chat about what I did is behind the ( cut )

Yay! It was so fabulous to have you here. Your panel ROCKED - it was well researched and interestingly presented. And your masquerade gown was just jaw-droppingly stunning. I'm so happy for you with your award!

Did you have a heart attack when you realized you didn't have the necklace, or had Edmund let you know in advance?

It was lovely having you, and you are welcome back anytime. I promise to be a better hostess and show you around Alameda!

No, Bess realised in the car as we were driving to the airport.

Thank you for looking after her!

AS Edmund said, I had realised I had left it on the kitchen table! It was a BAD day to travel!! Never mind. The day improved hugely when I saw you at the airport - so THANKYOU! You were a fantastic hostess. I really did appreciate it. Your house was lovely and it was nice to have that down time I needed before all the hecticness of the weekend.

BTW - on packing I realised I still have your camera download cable and your Victorian drawers. sweetladykt is coming to visit me at the beginning of June and will pick up two items she and Sarah left in their rooms. Would it be ok to give those two items to her? Not sure when she will be in Sacramento next though. Otherwise I can pack them up and send them to you.

I gave the dress to Kendra along with a small thankyou card.

No worries about the cable and the drawers, you can send them back whenever.

I saw Kendra last night and I have the dress and the card. It was lovely getting to know you better, and I know folks are green with envy that I got to see your stuff up close!

Thanks. I am pleased with that frock. And didn't Sarah look amazing in the Empress Eugenie Tableau ( ... )

I did stream the Tableau off of Youtube, and wow, that was a good idea that was very well executed. What can I say...I'm a sucker for a great live performance. :)

Sarah definately did look amazing in her particular dress, as did all the other participants. I checked the picture with the official portrait, and its almost eerie how similiar all the participants look to it. It pretty much dares the judges NOT to give them a Best in Show.

Glad you found your phone...200 Pounds? Hope it has a lot of great extra features. Geesh, makes me glad I only spent 1300 rupees on mine. Will be a lot fewer tears and swear words when I have to replace it.

Glad 02 is a pretty good company...having a second sim card could come in handy some day. It also sounds like Heathrow Lost Property was pretty good too...which is good since the only thing I hear about Heathrow is that its one of the worst airports to be dumped into. I'm really hoping that's false since I may very well have to fly through it on my holidays.

The phone is actually a PDA - this oneSo, yes, it does have a lot of features! I didn't initially pay for it as I have a £50 monthly contract so I got the handset free with an upgrade last December - which was done deliberately so I COULD use it in the USA! Hmmmph - that worked, didn't it ( ... )

It was lovely meeting you too. Hope to see you again when I come over next - whenever that may be (not this year though).
