While interested in the second option, I'm not sure how easily I'd be able to write about other peoples work. No, that's not quite it. I'm not sure I'd be able to live up to your vision of your own work/tell the story correctly.

But if your options are running low, let me know ;)

I might be willing to write an essay, depending of course on what exactly you are looking for.

I'd certainly love to take a stab at the essay portion.

What are you looking for? A general introduction - including things like Bio, background on the photos, what the project captures? or individual blurbs/captions for the pages? or section headers?

How were you planning on organizing the book? Chronologically? Subject matter-wise?

My favorite photo-collection books tend to be of the coffee-table variety and tend to have some combination of those.

Anything I can do to help out - just let me know. Everything I do to help is 100% gratis - consider it my donating to the cause to "Keep Bruce Making Those Beautiful Photos." :)

I'm really good at writing.
Uhmm... have perfect grammar, love your photography, etc.
I might be able to capture where you're coming from.

But it seems as though you have many other options! =) ^^^

i would gladly help you, editing and writing such things is my daily job, but i'm not familiar with New York context at all... so let me know only if you need a view from somebody for whom it is a phantom city par excellance, in which real-life existence i'm not even convinced under those loads of imagery. but i guess this is not the case :)))
anyway wishing you luck with the work! i'm sure it will be a good piece!
