Our dog is a bit of a dichotomy.

He is the gentlest, neediest, suckiest dog ever when it comes to humans, the kind of pup who'll roll onto his back and offer up his stomach to anyone if he thinks it might result in a belly rub. It occurs to me that August is perhaps the worst month possible for me to have chosen to launch a writing blog. Why? Because I'm so busy with writing/editing related projects (namely, the Rue Morgue Halloween issue and Burning Effigy fall production) at this time of year that keeping a blog could be seen as willful masochism.
