On Monday, I took the day off from work and went to a Track Day at NHMS in Loudon, NH on my motorcycle. ( What an awesome day! )

I had quite an adventure last Thursday.  In short I got the opportunity to be present at the NASA Landing Facility at Cape Canaveral for the final Space Shuttle landing and the conclusion of the Space Shuttle program.

So I made these amazing pancakes this weekend. They are so good I have to share, and also make sure I remember how to do this again. I was craving hearty whole-grain nutty pancakes, so I poked around and started with this recipe from the Epicurious website:

Some months ago I began listening to Mountians Beyond Mountains by Tracey Kidder. It tells the story of Paul Farmer and his efforts on behalf of the people of Haiti. It is a well written book and is very compelling in it narrative of Farmer's conviction and the good he has done for that poverty-stricken nation. I love my new motorcycle. It is so much more fun to ride than my old motorcycle. I am happier on it than I've ever been on a motorcycle (with the possible exception of when I had this exact same model motorcycle on our trip last fall, but maybe not because even though I was in a fun and exciting place on that one, *this* one is mine-all-mine ( Read more... )

I have this love/hate relationship with socks. I really like wearing socks. A fun or pretty pair of socks can really make my day. I can milk a good pair of socks for probably 10-15 smiles a day just by looking down and seeing how fun they are and letting the Joy of Socks™ in. I even made myself a pair of socks once.
