On the Cuban National Baseball Team and Their Recent Loss

Cuba lost to Japan in the final of the World Baseball Classic yesterday, 10-6. I was pretty bummed out, partially because I'm a fan of Cuba in general, despite the rampant human rights violations and senile, corrupt leadership. did you know that a few years ago--2003, i think--cuba experienced a hurricane far more dangerous than katrina, and nobody died? and it's not like it struck an uninhabited region--the situation was pretty similar to new orleans, except nobody died. now that's a country.

the cuban government cares about its people, used intelligence that it received ahead of time--unlike the usa--and evacuated the people.

when i was in puerto rico they were playing cuba, i wish i would have gone to that game. But everyone there loved baseball, and there were a bunch of sandlot fields with really big stadium lights that everyone went to on friday nights and sundays. and all the gangsters wore baseball jerseys instead of basketball jerseys.
