I just wanted to say I really appreciate you posting all of this.
Most Americans don't understand, and probably never will... but by you speaking of your experiences I have received a better insight into this war and what it's really about.
And personally I'd like to thank you for fighting for us.
Your sacrifices mean the world to me.

Deric, you are a brave man. I wish only the best for you and your platoon and that you can all come back as safely as possible. Fuck Moore, Fuck Bush, Fuck all of this nonsense and the people that propogate it. I know that you are doing a good thing no matter what the hell happens. It is a shitty thing we've got ourselves into, and now we need to do the best we can to actually help the people that need it in Iraq. Saddam was a piece of shit, but so are many world leaders and they'll all eventually get what's coming to 'em. I respect you so much for what you told me when we chatted a few nights ago while you were still in Germany dude, I am deeply moved that you found ways to not pull the trigger bro - that speaks more about your character and actual desire to help improve life on this planet, you have more integrity to pull it off than our damn pResident. Keep it up.

Thanks for giving a different side to the story, I don't think I have heard anyone give a better explanation of life in Iraq as you just have.

I'm sorry you have to go through more of that... seems like just yesterday when we would hang out. It's too bad those days are over.
