How does the axiom "A watched pot never boils" apply to human behavior?
In other words, what does it mean beyond the literal translation?

we as humans tend to pay attention closly to the things we anticipate to happen, which in turn makes us feel as if it will never happen.

the literal translation isnt true. what can i say, ima master chef.

yknow wes i was going to reply with that, but seeing as how you posted that some time back, you alreayd know it. Trying to make something happen is an excellent way to assure it will not, or at the least will prolong its coming

I think of it as it's hard to perceive change if you are constantly focused on the thing, or maybe even focused on the wrong thing. Like a flower, you really can't sit there to watch the bloom, it just happens.
