That MovNat sounds really interesting. I would be up for a fitness thing like that, rather than a gym or some weird class that involves weird exercises in groups... Partly why I just prefer running around outside being an idiot. What is the correct way to crawl? I didnt even know this WTF!
oh oh I keep meaning to ask. you know at Renaissance faires they sometimes have those guys who are like, "If you can climb this ladder without flipping over you win!" and it's a rope ladder attached to a tree; can you climb those?! I always wanted to try it, but I know there's a balance trick to it, but I don't want to pay to do it haha. It's always intrigued me.
It was so much fun! :D And it was a small group, but it wasn't a "now lets all do this in unison" sort of thing. The instructor showed us what to do and how to do it and then we all just practiced and he went between us all watching and correcting where need be.
As for crawling! You have to keep your back straight and not wiggle your butt when you move. Then, the movement itself is to move alternating limbs at the same time - so move your right arm forward with your left leg/knee, then your left arm with your right leg/knee. I always kept going too fast and ending up same-same x.x My coordination kept getting off.
I do know those! And I've always wanted to try them, but I've never done it for the same reason. I want to play on it and try and learn the trick, but I don't want to lose the money! I'd assume, though that part of the trick of it is to keep your balance as far on the outside edges of the ladder as you can, since it's so narrow and on a pivot point. But don't quote me on that o.o
Yess that sounds fun! Much more better than those traditional classes in buildings and egh no.
HMM. I think I crawl correctly then? except if im going slow I kind of stagger my limbs, like the right hand and left leg won't go down at the same time, but the leg will hit first and then the hand after. I also tend to use my feet instead of my legs so its more of a very very low crouch so NEVERMIND i dont do it right (but my back is still straight! lol)
I saw the guy demonstrate it before, and he started off climbing with his hands and legs but shifted his weight entirely to his legs as he got further up the ladder. I can't remember but I think he did place most of his weight on the edges, then moved in and walked on the actual rungs the further he got up. man now I really want to try it!
