This part was originally going to be longer, but I decided to end part 4 where I ended it.
Anyway, the whole "Bob" thing is in service to a one-line little joke in the next part. Dan just has Ted's name wrong (poor Ted, it's always him, right?).
Imagine that when Justin is talking about "Ted" having a porn site on the web, Dan is thinking, "Who?"
The more I read, the more I really like Dan. Not only that, but I like Dan and Justin together. Which really confuses me, 'cause I'm diehard B/J. So... when do I get to start disliking Dan and wanting Brian and Justin to get back together?
You are evil. Truly evil. I'm almost hating Brian here, and really, really liking Dan. I want Justin to be happy, and it seems he really is with Dan, so unless you change Dan around and make him into some drug-swilling, two-timing, cheating bastard who controls Justin with mind games and blackmail, I don't know if I'll be able to hate him. And that's just not fair, 'cause he BELONGS with Brian.
Gosh, Dan is Sunshine-trainable. Already our young twink has him kissing in front of the house. ::flustering eye-lashes:: The two, despite the age difference, is still negotiating in their relationship and it's just sweet. I hope it'll last a bit longer before Brian lowers his guards to go after Justin--where it gets angsty...
I keep seeing Richard Gere as Dan! So I'm in no hurry to break them up. But the final analysis is still...a BJ reunion with hot monkey sex. LOL.
Wow. Ok, just about used up my lunch hour to read this- so worth it.viola69April 13 2004, 10:36:53 UTC
And feel like I need to go back & re-read the 'silent' conversation between Brian & Justin to fully digest it- know in part it was a none-too-subtle jab that *THIS* is Justin's family that he's stayed away from too long. Love seeing this dinner through Dan's eyes- since so much he didn't quite understand including Justin's desire to fuck outside- other than it was a result of Brian.

Ok, just to clarify my own read here- I see a number of posts here that seemed to assume that Brian made some sexual overture to Justin hence Justin being ready to go once he & Dan get home. My own interpretation is that Brian & Justin's whole dialogue- both the body-language one and the verbal one- was about first Brian talking to Dan and then Justin's conversation with Debbie- and the reinforcement of *this* is your family, your not an orphan so stop acting like it. It was the proximity of being with Brian and a breaking down in some sense of the walls Justin had built up in being separate from the gang that lead to him being so eager, even desparate for the rush of sex in public and reconnecting with Dan. right?

Your interpretation is more the way I see it as well.
For sure, Brian didn't make a pass at Justin. Brian is still gauging how Justin has dealt and is dealing with the death of his mother, and until Brian is sure he know where Justin's head is, he won't come on to him. At least not with patented Brian Kinney intensity!
I think Justin was so relieved and happy and comforted to be back with people he knows and who know him that he wanted to celebrate that--make the feeling last a little longer as it were.
I'm so glad you posted. I've been checking for days hoping you would. I'm really into this story and can't wait to see where your imagination takes it. Didn't understand the Bob thing though. And what did Brain whisper to Justin? It looked intresting that's for sure. Keep Writing!!! Sarah

And what did Brain whisper to Justin?
Something intense and very Brianesque, no doubt! Luckily, all of this section was in Dan's POV, so I didn't have to come up with Brian's little talk yet!

Hmmm, sometimes, when I don't know what Brian should or would say, I cheat a little and make all of you decide!

Exactly. Brian won't have Justin feeling like some lost little orphan when he has a support system in place!
Thanks for the comments!
