So I am just curious-- fic (or just general erotica) writers, do any of you ever base things off personal sexual experience? I'm just wondering if this is something people do or if I am apparently some sort of horrible creeper.

IMHO, it stands to reason that any porn you write is going to be hotter if it's making you hot as you write it. That's likely to reflect the actual sex you have, so it's logical to put real life experience into your writing.
You might try writing another kink or experience as a technical skill challenge, but if you don't have the same passion for the subject then it likely won't be as good.

However, I agree that specific details, particularly anything identifying, should be anonymised :-D

And yeah obviously I would never write a fic with explicit references to IRL stuff, I was just thrown off by a longtime reader telling me they can't "get into" my fics anymore knowing I draw some sex stuff from IRL. Weird.
