Omg... What day is it???
I don't even remember what I have already posted so if some of it is a repeat, please forgive me. So.... MOM....
The respirator and the ventilator tube were not removed yesterday, and the ventilator was turned back on. Last night, her output drop to 10 an hour, so they gave her a diuretic to get that going again. They took her restraints ( Read more... ) -
Day 4
The day started optimistic. Mom was still on the ventilator, but they had turned it off. They were discussing removing the breathing tube, and we were certain that this would happen. Dado, Gran Gran, Granddad, and Mike showed up for 1 pm visitation. I found out then that they had to turn the breather back on because she was taking too many ( Read more... ) -
Day 3
I know that I said that I would post after the 1 pm visiting hours, but Pookie took control of the laptop. To make a long day as short as possible. Mom had a good day. They no longer have her sedated, and they even allowed her to take off her restraints for a bit. I don't think she is aware about what kind of time has passed or what exactly has ( Read more... ) -
Day 3
Visitation at 9 went well. I stopped at the gift shop to pick up some toiletry items and I found a cat that I thought mom would enjoy. I had the gift shop lady call ICU to see if they would allow her to have it. They would. So we went upstairs to visit Mom. They had taken her off the sedative to see how she would do if she was more alert. The ( Read more... ) -
Day 2
Pretty uneventful day, thank goodness. More calls between visitation hours. We can only go back to ICU3 four times a day for various times. So the rest of the day is pretty much waiting. The morning visit was pretty routine and slightly optimistic. Her respirator is set to let her attempt to take breaths on her own before breathing for her ( Read more... ) -
Hospital Woes
Okay, here it is 11:17 on Thursday night, and I am currently sitting in Ft. Sanders surgery waiting room... Waiting. I have been in this hospital (not necessarily in this room) since about 10 am this morning. AHHHH...
YAY!!! I made it. Three days of training and NOW.... AND NOW.... I am on vacation for 10 days.....
I want to scrapbook some... I want to finish the jigsaw puzzle I have been working on.... I want to spend an entire day on the couch doing nothing but napping and watching TV....

Sounds like a movie.... It's so sad that it is a true story from today.
What was supposed to be a day of learning at Central High School was shattered. A student was fatally shot in the cafeteria before the school day even began ( Read more... )
