Dog Days...Not Quite Over

It truly was the sweltering dog days of summer here in Texas this year. In case the rest of the country and world wasn't aware, we had a major drought and record-breaking heatwave. I'm talkin' 108 and higher folks! It's been utterly miserable. I'm usually pretty heat-tolerant, but the weather this summer really felt oppressive and intolerable to me ( Read more... )

Do it! I have similar plans, and I'm starting to believe that entrepreneurship is truly the best route for some people. Best of luck to you!

I want to turn my freelancing on the side to a Web-based editing/proofreading service. Hope to get this off the ground next year!

I'm definitely looking and applying for jobs-- It's inevitable really. BUT, I'm taking advantage of my down time now to explore other possibilities for the future. I know there's no way I can start up a business and actually make enough money to live on anytime soon, so I'll still have to continue with a job search. I just keep telling myself it'll only be temporary. I wouldn't do very well "living on the edge." I like comfort and security too much. : ) I'm glad it works for you though.
