I pose this question to you all

So here is a question that I am just trying to get feedback to see what different people think.

here is the question:

Do you believe that people with higher incomes should be forced to pay higher taxes than people with lower incomes and why?

if you have worked hard for that money i dont see how that is fair to have to pay more taxes compared to someone who is sitting on their butt collecting unemployment and them paying less. so in this sense i am a sort of fiscal conservative.

well i dont sit on my butt, i work 40+ hours a week and i am still struggling. i think i should definitly have to pay less then someone who makes six figures a year. remember, not everyone in the lower tax brackett is a bum sitting collecting unemployment, there are a lot of people who work hard just to get by.

What's up Daniel? It's been a while, but I thought I'd chime in.

I think that every American should pay the same PERCENTAGE of their income. That seems to be the most fair to me. So obviously the rich would pay more in dollars, but it would be the same percentage so they are not being punished for being successful.

My income is definitely in a lower bracket, but I think a guy who makes a million dollars a year should pay the same percentage that I pay.
