halloween is one of the best times of the year. but sometimes it's a pain in my ass. at work, we all dress up and our departments divide into teams to carve pumpkins, and engage in a fierce battle to see who's pumpkin is deemed to be the best. my team decided to go with a Hellraiser theme, which i thought was awesome. and we're all plotting and ( Read more... )

i totally thought about that one but not only do i not want to be the douchebag that fucks up the pumpkin, but my team might stick those pins in me for being a douche bag. besides, i get to not do my work while i do this so it isn't entirely a bum deal

I recommend using a dry erase marker to draw the picture on and using an exacto blade to carve it.

the dry erase marker suggestion is GENIUS. thanks! i was thinking of using actual carving tools, but the exacto is probably a better idea for the initial shape cutting part, so thanks again. you ever try whittling a pumpkin?

Nope. Just cut shapes. I used to do a pretty good job :)

The exacto is good for getting nice crisp lines on the outside, but you'll need to complete them with a slim knife.
