Back to working on The Scarf today. It's going to end up very weird-looking; one end is very wide, and the other end is getting narrower and narrower, because the knit ribbing is pulling it narrower. I suppose I could undo all the knitting and do it again with garter stitch or something else, but I can't bear to undo all that work, no, please no. But I ought to. Gah!
I have now frogged it back to just a couple of inches of ribbing, and started gartering. Better that, than to be cringing every time I thought of The Scarf and its lopsidedness.
Had a busy day so just one today, with and without words. It's just that the snarky words seemed to suit Rodney (Stargate Atlantis) so well. I'm also putting up the base: the texture is from a watery paint jpg overlaid with an even bluer gradient. The text could use a bit more pale glow around it, I know, to make it easier to read... maybe I'll have another try later.
I think now it's just that last line that could use a little more light... I use an old ImageReady trial version for most of my text, it only lets me save two worked-on images then I have to get out and start again with a blank copy, which is a pain but I can't justify the full cost for just text...
I now have a sketch of the border. Well, three sides of it and I'm thinking that might be enough. Thoughts on three-sided borders?
I cut apart the 'P' and the other lower case letters and slid them closer. I do like the 'e' further underneath the belly of the 'P'. I haven't redone the other lower case letters yet, but I don't think I'll need much more room for them. Yes, these may be words I'll rue and possibly I should have finished with them before working on the border.
Another question: is the different scale of the arrows and the staves disturbing?

THis is a really exquisite lettering and the initial deserves to stand a little bit apart. The sword rules though in its glory! I don´t see anything disturbing with the arrows and staves. I just admire that precise work!
Oh, I am happy! Spock and his Sehlat - exactly like I can imagine. What a wonderful drawing, the animal, the alien nature, toys and a very familiar Spock. So fantastic!!!

I found the words clear to read, but the glow might look good, sort off halluncinatory. No time for hallucinations either though!
