I like using silent film stills for icons; because they had to exaggerate emotions to get them across without sound, they come over well in tiny pictures. (okay, I also like them because they're old and I like old:) Here are six, the first three including silent film card text... simply because.

The fellow looks like the kind of gormless bloke one would find in Jeeves & Wooster...

Which is probably why I like him, perhaps....

Very dramatic! I'm rather in love with No. 4! Indeed!

Jumping over to spool-knitting with rainbow-bands. This is actually part of my campaign to clear the dining room table...

My little project today was crochet. I made the web of a dream-catcher. I made a dream-catcher this spring as well, but this new one will be more fitting colour wise with autumn. The web is dark green, the circle will be brown and the decorations will be beads and ribbons in autumn colours. But that is all for tomorrow.

It's extra exciting when the idea has been brewing for a while!

Soft pastels today and a basket of fruit with blueberries assuming the role usually played by grapes. In my mind, blueberries are blue, although really they are not! Also, the light changed a lot while I was doing this. I noted that I seem to think that once something is on the other side of a pane of glass, it is far away and therefore, impressionistically vauge, even if the shapes are only a short distance away and the window is fairly clean.

Oooh this! Oh pleasure! What a beautiful, fantastic, awesome picture! All the shapes, shading, colours, the flowers I can see through the winsow, the basket - wonderful!
The colours remind me of Henri Mattisse, so lively, Congratulations, this art brings joy to us!!!
