Yes, outstanding film--Charlie Kaufman's best, and possibly Jim Carrey's best performance, too. It did have a melancholy tone, but it leaves room for hope, as well. I think it does make you appreciate your own memories.

yeah i LOVED IT. but its so weird....i must be all brokeny? cause everyone keeps saying it was sad/they cried, but i thought it was so awesome and i was happy at the end! like another one of your comments said, the thing where they decide to go ahead, even knowing that theyll get sick of each other eventually...so perfectly real and romantic. i didnt think it was sad at all... but then i like sad movies and didnt think 'leaving las vegas' was sad either. @_@ im a enigma. wrapped in tortillas with sauce.
