Bloody Hell
I sat an exam yesterday in which I mentioned a certain critter, Tiktaalik. If the buggers at the BBC had published this at about one instead of five, I might have got some really good marks for that. Now my answer is obselete by about twenty minutes. Damn bloody science. -

Ken, one of the geology lecturers, died from a heart attack yesterday. I was actually in the department at the time, although I didn't know for sure what had gone on until Paul emailed today.
Now I have to email Ivan about references. Seeing as his office is opposite Ken's, I'm not sure how well he'll take to being hassled. -
