This place is wicked. Well, the whole Mum-and-Dad-being-almost-our-age-and-not-together bit is off, but I got to meet Teddy's dad and Dad's godfather and Uncle Ron. Except, well, Uncle Ron's a bit young. And I've only met them all metaphorically. Or rather, just over the internet. But details, really ( Read more... )

Not the point. The POINT is that I'm not female!

Or should I start calling you Allison and see how you like it?

You don't have to be female to act like one, Jamesy.

People will just think you're a nutter. Which you are, but that's not the point.

Pleased to meet you, Al-san. ^_^ Yes, this place is a little odd but you get used to it after a while.

My name is Fuji, and I'm a tennis playing Muggle from Japan.

Eh? What's the "-san" business, then? Odd? How do you figure?

Oh ace! Always thought tennis would be fun to play. Granted it's nothing without a bit of magic, but I have to go muggle for summer hols as it is.

-san is an honorific. It's like Mr. or Miss or Mrs., but tagged onto the end of the name. ^_^ As for how I figure, well, the matter of all these alternate versions of people you know in their own timelines and realities is proof enough.

It's funny you mention magical tennis. ^_^

Ah, I see. Well Albus or Al's really fine. No need for an honorific. And good point.

Is it? Why?

Not the way I would have put it, but he, er, is my dad?

Seamus Finnigan? Dad's old classmate?

Yeah, I've met your brother already.

That'd be me. Also known as 'the drunken Irish one that blows things up'.

I apologize for that.

I think I've heard stories about that, actually.

Crawling out of the woodwork? That's a great mental image.

Nice to meet you, Sunako. Where are you from, then?

I--ah. Er. You like imagining crawling maggots?

Japan, then? That's a bit far away, then.

Harry really has no naming sense, does he? Not a single original name in the lot.

namesofthegreat August 18 2007, 23:11:09 UTC
Well I'm not named after anyone he's related to, at least?

And really, er. No offense, Uncle Ron, but...Hugo? Poor boy.

spidersrbadmkay August 18 2007, 23:13:27 UTC
That does help.

Hermione would have been the one to come up with that name. Not me.

I've always thought so.

That's true. But you didn't really put up a fight with that one.
