so...to whoever it was that posted my lj into two forums, NOT COOL.

I put the file up because I have friends on here who, like me, have listened to bt in the past and are curious about his new album. I was expecting maybe 4 or 5 people to respond (this page hardly gets much traffic...usually). There was no commercial or malicious intent meant ( Read more... )

POSTING MP3'S, NOT A GOOD IDEA anonymous April 7 2003, 16:18:39 UTC
Being a personal friend of BT, I know he and Nettwerk wouldn't be happy about you posting his music online to the public. It would be a good idea to take this off real quick-like.

it was recorded off the radio - it's fair use. If you had bothered to check, instead of making a baseless accusation...

not like it doesn't suck horribly tho.

OOoo.. Only problem was that it wasn't a "radio" recording of the Somna track. That would be a full blown rip from either the white label or a Nettwerk promo. Very very bad. As I understand it, 3am has already be contacted. Now would be a good time to remove the links. Seeing as this goes to what appears to be a school account too, I would hope he doesn't get his school access taken too.

not sure if this is the same anonymous poster as before...

I'm certainly not one of the people with the promo that's starting to make the rounds - the only ones so far are some of the big names who were down at the Winter Music Conference. As far as I know, the original mix hasn't even been pressed to vinyl yet (just the Sander Kleinenberg and Burufunk mixes). I'm really not even quite sure where this came from, besides some random user on WinMX (who probably got it from someone else, who got it from someone else, & so on).

The links are gone & files have been deleted in any case...
hope everyone knows that no harm was meant by it.

Yes, the Love in the TIme of Thieves MP3 isnt really a big deal, even though he should give credit to where he got it from.

But the Somnambulist mp3 is.

That's NOT supposed to be publically distributed.. and in the interest of saving himself a world of trouble, he should take that down.

yeah, I really didn't think it'd have this much of a response.

I mainly put it up so a handful of my friends could check it out...people are getting pretty curious about his new material now that it's starting to get played out. Most people I know still buy albums, so I really didn't think much of it...=\

It's gone now though, so no worries (I hope).

btw...what'd you think of Audiolab?

Actually I wasnt overly impressed... The dancefloor was too small.. The organization wasnt that great.. and the fact that at any given time only half of their videoFX monitors were working :P

I mean, it wasnt horrible, but it wasnt the best club ive been to either.

Was still a Killer set, though
heheheheh

And I loved that everyone looked at me and my friends like we were insane when we held up our signs.

haha...I gotta give it to you Canadians, you have some really nice clubs up there! I'm in love with the Commodore Ballroom in Vancouver. =P

The place is decent, but the names are just too big for the venue. It's great for the locals and whatnot, but the floor gets absolutely packed once the headliners come on. I'm dreading the 19th, James Lavelle is going to be coming to town, actually. Much credit to the sound system there, though...I was deaf for like 3 days!
