The Basics
Name: sui xiao lu
Age: 22
Describe the meaning or significance in your username: It's supposed to be lawlessearthling but LJ apparently puts a limit on the number of characters you can use in a username. So I was forced to contract it to "lawlessearth." It seemed like a good idea at the time.
Favorite color: Any color so long as it's not orange. Interestingly enough, I cannot stand both the color and the fruit.
Do you give orders or simple follow what's given to you? I don't like following orders and don't care enough to tell people what to do.
Is the glass half full or half empty? What glass?
Your favourite drink is? Water. Coffee. Apple cider. Not necessarily in that order.
Smoking. Yes or no? Nope. Can't see why I should although I went through the normal adolescent experimental phase. It didn't develop into a full-blown habit, however.
Scraping the Surface
What are your interests? Oh, varied. I believe myself to be capricious enough to have a different interest every month or so and this interest may last anywhere from five seconds to five months, but I have discovered that I have five things that more or less remain constant: anime/manga, writing, Garbage (the band), photography, and Casablanca (the movie, yes, I know sappy but Bogie's awesome in that ohsosmexysicklyabouttodie kind of way).
What are your pet peeves? Waiting.
What are your hobbies? Special talents? My hobbies consist of reading manga or watching anime, writing (which I happen to do for a living and be good at, modesty aside), and photography (I've done a couple of solos and joined a few with the photography group I'm with).
Your strengths lie in… and why? Being perceptive though not necessarily sensitive. Why? Because it's good fodder for writing fiction and an excellent way to judge character. I am very...choosy.
Your weaknesses are… and why? As I mentioned, being choosy is a weakness of mine since it can be translated to aloofness, which is not conducive to improving the grandness of the social atmosphere. It's not social ineptitude so much as simply not having the stomach for social niceties that are admittedly nice but not always necessary.
Digging a little Deeper
Who do you admire (whether it be fictitious or real life) and why? The president of my country because she's brilliant (well, her advisers at least) and unscrupulous when the need calls for precisely that. She's probably corrupt (or her people are) and not averse to using underhanded means to get things done but I can see that she really really tries, even if some of her plans do backfire. No one is perfect.
What do you look for in a friend and why? Someone with a good sense of humor, someone who does not feel the need to be constantly fawned over to know they are valued, and someone who won't hesitate to ask for help when they need it (even when I do nothing but lambast her for being stupid enough to get into trouble).
If you were in a rock band, which position would you play and why? The drums, simply because I like hitting things. No, just kidding, but for some reason though I think drummers are generally cool.
How would your ideal room/apartment look like and why? Spare. I like space and I'd prefer low tables, no chairs except perhaps one or two bean bags and a couch (don't forget the couch!), a really huge drawing table (for layouting my photos), a dark room (of course), a small fridge (for snacks and stuff. I can't, for the life of me, cook so I eat out usually) and a sleeping bag for a bed or a mat. I can't stand soft mattresses. I get horrible stiff necks from them.
If you were a piece of jewelry what would you be and why? I deal with realities. I don't do "if-games" although I am not above losing myself in fiction so for purposes of this rating-thingy, I'll say I'm a stomach ring because I'm sexy. Yes, really.
From the Manga
Who is your favorite character and why? Yasu because he's cool and bald and a lawyer, which I am not but which I am going to be if I get through law school and pass the Bar. Oosaki Nana because she is also cool in that Idontgiveashit kind of way.
Who is your least favorite character and why? Takumi because he's an asshole and he knows it, apparently brilliant though he is.
Your favorite pairing? And why? Takumi x Hachi...because I believe in balance as the thing that makes relationships work. Two persons don't have to be alike in order to connect. But that theory about "opposites attract" is just a load of crap. Rather, I believe in the "two of a kind" philosophy. On a different note, I also enjoy the whole Yasu x Nana thing-whatever going on though it's probably not going to be realized (and rightly so).
Your favorite relationship? And why? Nana x Hachi because the dynamics is just interesting.
