Bathroom Saga Part 4
Floor is done. Grouting wasn’t as bad as my sister in law made it sound, but I was only doing a bathroom and she a kitchen. The annoying parts were the hard to reach corners between the vanity and tub and under the front of vanity where it was hard to get the grout float at the prescribed 45 angle. The tile is down. I was so paranoid about thinset consistency and mixing because I didn’t have one of those mixer drill attachments. It can be done by hand, and it’s not all that difficult but those muscles I build up, you know the two weekends taking up tile…yeah. Used those. So tile didn’t happen this weekend. I had to go into work at 3 so that cut into how much time I had to work on the floor, and I don’t think this tile thing is going to go down in a few hours. Got the toilet out on Saturday like I wanted to. Damn toilet was a deceptive little bugger, once side of the tank came off clean as you please; the other side had rusted so bad that it was a single solid unit. I am stupidly excited about this remodel. I’ve been half-assed planning it for almost 4 years and never got past peeling the wallpaper from the wall. Well my Body is coming in with her mom in June and they need a nice bathroom, not one with cracking tile, raw walls and a dead toilet. It only took me four months. But hey, new layout! Foggy tree, green soothy-ness. Not even going to try for a new years resolution to post more, it is evidently pointless but the slow additions to my routine, morning walkies and veggie eating havent changed a damn thing about me, why should this. *le sigh* But good lord they have changed up LJ since ( Read more... )
