Well. That was certainly less painful than anticipated. The foundation estimate came out to just a bit more than half of what I had expected. The best news is that it's the first estimate, so that amount is the absolute highest I'll have to pay. Tomorrow I have an appointment to get the first estimate for repairing my foundation, an event fraught with all the ominous foreboding of a prison rape scene. I'm figuring on $5k-$6k, although it could easily go higher than that.
