My gallbladder surgery is set for February 2nd. The surgeon actually said that I should go a week to two weeks without lifting anything heavier than 10 lbs. Now I'm sorry, but that is impossible. My son weighs at least 15 lbs., and Scott cannot stay home for 2 weeks! It will be all we can manage for him to stay home for one. And there really ( Read more... )

Awww (((((hugs))))). I wish I lived in Texas, because I would certainly love to help you w/ your kiddo! Do you think maybe you could take him to his day care for the 1 week that Scott can't be home with you?

Nah, daycare doesn't generally work like that. It's not a "drop off" kind of thing. Especially the place he went to, since it's not a daycare, it's a montessori school.

I may call my godmother and see if she can help out a bit. Thing is, she lives so freaking far away. Like 30 miles away. :\

They tell moms that have sections not to lift anything 'heavier than the baby' I am sure you and Sammers will be just fine.

Well, that's when the baby is a newborn, not 7 months old! *lol* But I know what you mean. I'm sure I'll be fine.

And while not many newborns weigh 15 or 20 pounds, some do weigh at least 10 and those moms are ok. I'm not sure where the incision will be, but ... I think you'll do ok.

oof I'm sorry. I bet you will be fine if you just keep it to the necessary, right?

Does Scott's insurance cover home health care? Maybe you can have someone come and help you?
