NaNoWriMo 2010: Day Twenty-Two

Nov 22, 2010 10:25

It's Day Twenty-Two! Today's word-count goal is 36,667.

I don't know about you, but I could use a boost. Here's a challenge word to net us a few hundred words each as we contort our stories to accommodate it. Unless you're already writing about harps. If that's the case, I apologize to you. And feel a little sorry for you too.

HARP

Oh, is *that* what we are?

But anyways ...

"We took a few moments to stand over the raccoon in memorial, Dale softly plunking at his lute instrument, which on this morning took on the overtones of a harp."

"Just a few days ago, though, Ben and I were talking about -- well, just talking, and he started harping on it, saying he bet when you two got married that you'd ask me to be in it."

Is it clear that I am *only* interested in word padding at this point? ;)

Posts pushed this off my friends page and I almost missed it. >_>

Korin spent several minutes examining the thing trying to figure out what its purpose might be before hitting on the idea that it might be some type of musical instrument - some kind of elaborate mouth harp, perhaps.

... Um... yeah. XD

Hey, I didn't see this posted anywhere else, so, um ... yeah, what's the protocol/etiquette around here for announcing if and when we hit 50,000?

I don't think we have a protocol! You've already announced it on your LJ. Verification will open on the NaNo site tomorrow (I'm pretty sure) and then you can turn your green bar into a purple bar. That might be a convenient time to post to nanomojo that you're officially done. :)

Green bar?

Purple bar?

I know nothing of these things. Maybe it's time for me to ask my follow-up question: Just what exactly do NaNoer's *DO* on the official website? What do some of YOU do there? Because speaking for myself, I don't know if I've even visited the site since November 1st.
