2010 Review.
This past year was one of the saddest and happiest in my life. January and February were taken up with Ear training groups and my weekly Internet radio shows. Ten years ago today, October 5, 2000, is the date I received Emma. Every year on this anniversary, I post an entry about the joy of being together with Emma another year. Random Ramblings.
I am kept awake by the fireworks while Emma sleeps through them undisturbed. I am so glad she's not afraid of them, having had three previous dogs who were frightened of firecrackers, one of whom, Velvet, had to be tranquilized for a week every Fourth of July. Good News and Not So Good News.
My knee doctor is going to try me on a different series of injections other than the steroid, which may give me better results, temporarily, without the risks. They will start in August over a five week period. About my arm, the injury is indeed a biceps tendon rupture. Surgery isn't necessary in my case. Humptee Dumptee.
Hoping my orthopedic surgeon will have good news for me regarding my arm, which still hurts in spite of slow improvements over the last five weeks. I know the status of my knee won't get any better, but an injection will certainly help for now. Trying to remain optimistic, but I'll be relieved to hear I won't need surgery or rehab on my arm. After the Fall.
It's too soon for me to laugh yet, but this is pretty ironic that I fell over my exercise bike when my foot got caught on the frame. It's also pretty ironic that the injury is fairly rare, and usually a sports injury. My primary care doctor diagnosed me with ruptured biceps tendon. Memorial Day Weekend Madness.
I managed Saturday to lose the battle with my exercise bike, by falling over it whent I tripped on the frame, which stuck out too far from the wall, and then landing on my left upper arm and elbow, in my effort to avoid falling on my already sore right knee. The Finally Four.
Nan finally has four days off. Yay! No clients. No Ear stuff. No plans. No more moving. Bought groceries and dog food this morning and for the first time had only one set of stairs to climb. Early Morning.
Today I am up early on account of lab appointments including a fasting blood draw. No coffee allowed until afterward. I got pretty tired out from moving most of the weekend, and I still have some left to finish this week, but I had a lot of help from a couple of good friends.
