What's all this Christmas crap about?

Dec 10, 2002 02:20

Everywhere I go, there's crazy women running around trying to buy up everything in sight, including all the best food which I saw first! Well, screw them all, 'cause I know where the best buys are. Or, well, I used to, because apparently they know all my favourite shops too! How do women do it? Is it some sort of special power to hunt out the best ( Read more... )

Yo, that's a good idea, man! But that doesn't answer the question as to why every girl in this entire country seems to be going mental right now and buying loads of things! All the guys I know are just lazing about as usual and talking about doing stuff "last minute"...! What's the deal?!

Christmas is the holiday of giving. You give presents to those you care about. That's why Jen is making such a big deal out of this.

Whoa! Oh, okay! Thanks a lot there, Chichi! I wish she'd have just told me! Women are so hard to understand sometimes... They should just say stuff rather than expecting us to be telepathic or something!

Christmas is like this legal time to go mental. People are supposed to buy gifts for those they love and in return get gifts from the ones who love them.

Being much more into shopping than most men are, it's only natural that women are likely to be out in the stores in droves buying everything in sight.

Jen is hoping you'll get her Christmas gifts for her too. I'm sure she's buying gifts for you as well. Somehow, people on this planet have it twisted that gifts mean love.

Gifts for me, eh? That sounds good. Man, I'm worried now, though... What if I don't buy her enough? Does that mean I don't love her enough...?!

Ah, I mean... I... uh... Dammit!

No, Jen seems level headed and she must know you don't have a clue. Buy her a few trinkets like sweaters and things and then buy her one special gift, something you know she would love.

Christmas is a holiday that was originally a pagan holiday to celebrate Winter Solstus, the day when daylight and night time were exactly the same.

Later, when Christianity was taking hold and anything pagan was considered "evil" they decided instead to say that day we would celebrate the birth of Christ.

Now it has turned into this huge commercial holiday where we run around buying gifts for each other and working ourselves into a virtual frenzy so on the actual day, we're about ready to pass out from exhaustion.

Personally, that's why I try to do most of my shopping on the internet. To save that bother.

What Christmas is meant to be is a holiday that celebrates family and loved ones. Gifts are supposed to be a symbolism of that love you feel for each other.

What the hell is Christianity?

And how do you shop on the internet? I don't think Jen would be very happy if I 'bought' her some MP3s. These crazy humans, why's everything gotta be so complicated?

There are various stores on the internet where you can look at the merchandise, pick what you want, then you give them your debit or credit card number and they mail the stuff to the house.
