I have a particular hate-on for mercenaries. I have a special hatred of Blackwater; what they do in Iraq, in Afghanistan, especially in Colombia and so many other countries.

GWB has set himself up with a job in lieu of this third term.

It was your post that tipped me off. It just took me a while to get around to posting it, much like it's taking me a while to getting around to doing anything online these days.

As what? He doesn't have the skills to run a merc company.

Sen. Orrin Hatch, a former LDS bishop who does not drink, has taken more money from wine, beer and liquor groups this year than any other congressional candidate.

Of course he has; he's an equal-opportunity sellout. Hatch and his cronies could accept contributions from Satan himself and it wouldn't surprise me.

I read about this ages ago but mostly just in terms of them being in NO to guard the homes and property of the wealthy. These bastartds were helicoptered in days after the hurricane hit, i.e. before food and water had even made it in to people who were dying.

I think that perfectly showed what the real priorities were of those authorities in charge of "relief" efforts.
