First, thank you! And second, I am still fuzzy on what it actually means to be a non-comissioned whatsit or a...basically anyone who isn't on the bridge! Is there a page on Memory Alpha that explains any of that?

My attempts at appeasing canon are like trying to hit a bullet with a smaller bullet whilst wearing a blindfold, riding a horse. D:

Thank you so much for the help. I looked around but I was having trouble finding anything. I do not have Chekov's navigational skills when it comes to the internet.

And the quote is from the new movie. It's what Scotty says about trans-warp beaming. :)

P.S. GOD I APPRECIATE THAT YOU ARE A NERD BECAUSE I AM A FAIL OF A NERD IN THIS FANDOM.

I'm feeling offended on Chekov's behalf that so many, especially Kirk, take him so for granted, and treat him like a child- great job with the emotional investment! It's a great reminder that Chekov is a complex character and not a little kid. He's finished Starfleet and gone on active duty at an unusually young age, but his chronological age has little to do with the mature, complex mind housed in that young body, which clearly few people grasp. I loved the observation about Scotty versus Spock conversations: "less logic, more swearing"- perfect!

I have hope that maybe stepping outside his insular existance will help others see Cehov as a whole, mature human being. It looks like Rogers might be the catalyst, or noe of them. "You're cute." Hee!

Great start! I'm looking forward to seeing how Chekov's journey progresses!

Obviously posted without spellcheck- sorry! Amongst other errors: that's "Chekov" and "one" in the second paragraph. Eeesh.

Thank you for your kind words!

I think of Kirk as the type who would tease Chekov a lot because he himself is probably a little bit insecure that he's younger than some people who underrank him. He naturally seems like a teaser, and I think he'd pick on Chekov because he's an easy target. Not an attractive quality, but a realistic one.

Poor baby. He's so loney.

I bet he's having a perspective problem more than anything. Because he thinks of himself as too young to be included, he decides that's what everyone else thinks.

I love that replicated cream of wheat is the same as regular cream of wheat. Bwahaha.

I'm really excited to see how this is going to turn out. I love how self conscious Chekov is and how well you capture his character.

I hope to see an update soon.
