I was actually a little productive today- what happened? Went to Jenny Craig and I've lost about 8 ounces this week! I'm stunned! That's after a gain of a pound last week, though. Still, to do so after the two days of dessert debauchery was truly amazing ( Read more... )

Am I the only person who is slipping self-indulgent purchases into the holiday shopping? Today's purchase was modest, but a bit of a luxury: a lame (pronounced "lahm"), which is a very specialized tool for bakers to make the little cuts in the top of baguettes and other breads before they go in the oven.
