This has been a particularly hard year for EVERYONE financially and I am no exception.  While I am SO thankful for my job and certainly have way more than others in this topsy-turvy world, it has been difficult comparatively speaking.  So when Jared told me he gets Christmas leave I was ecstatic!  Because he is set to deploy sometime after the ( Read more... )

ok - the dude sounds like a strange cookie. he MAY mean well, and he may be eccentric and rich and all that... but it's STRANGE. Maybe he has aspergers... who knows...

but the lady sounds awesome!

Just cuz you ask for a favor doesn't meant he person offering the favor can treat you ill, OR that you HAVE to accept it... personally, I think if you ask for a favor and somenoe starts adding conditions, it's not much of a favor anymore

I'm not sure. "Frank" might've been trying to be an angel and you made a demon of him.

But then again he might've had an agenda.

And if your intuition sent up a red flag, it's probably best to move in the direction of caution.

Oh, no - I hope that's not true. I really didn't mean to villify him, but I kept thinking, "would I have said anything like that Burger King comment?" and the answer was always, NO. And yeah, I have learned it's best to trust my gut feelings. They are usually right.

In this day and age I say you can never be too careful with internet communications. If it sounded odd or fishy to you, then it very well could be. It also might not be, but I'd rather play it safe than be sorry later on.

Your other is a genuine angel. I hope you have a good holiday visit w/ your son!
