the trailer makes it seem like depp acts like a bitchy little gay man the whole time... yes/no? and are there songs?

I thought that would be the case too, but in the context of the entire movie, it's not really annoying. He's bitchy, but you understand why, and his bitchiness is actually pretty funny. He's also completely asexual.

There are songs, all by Danny Elfman, with lyrics from the book (unlike the old movie) they are pretty short. some of them are dumb, some of them are awesome. The Mike Teavee song is my favorite, it goes back and forth between a Bollywood song (with the Oompa Loompas dressed up like Bollywood Beatles) and a Kiss style metal song (they're dressed up in cat suits and capes and what not)

I must say, it's definitely worth watching. Overall it's pretty awesome, just completely fucking bizarre at the same time.
