well, it's been a long, strange trip to Iraq. it's very surreal here. It's almost like home, with the trailer park, and laundry shops, and crappy cars. But then you turn a corner, and there's a bombed out palace where you work. And if you go behind the detainee holding area, there is a spice in the air that is unmistakably foreign. So they've finally told me the day I leave. This Wednesday. Kinda last minute, but I expected that. What I still don't know is address, or even where I'm going. I talked to a computer tech named "Kevin" today. Funny, though, when "Kevin" took control of my compy, it said he was "Karthik". Hmmmmmm. Anyway, "Kevin" couldn't find out what as wrong with my DVD drive, so the maintenance tech will call tomorrow, and try again, only to fail, and end up sending me a new drive. So, Geoff and i were at Best Buy tonite, and I had an "incident". We were waiting to check out, when a new cashier opened up looked at us and asked for the next in line. So, as a thanksgiving present from Army, I have been granted an extra couple of weeks here in the states. Instead of the beginning of Dec I now leave in mid-Dec. *shrug* I won't complain.
