Most of the Hawks office staff were fired today, apparently in desperate cost-cutting measures. Tracy, Liz, Dave, Jennifer for sure. Kelley and Doug stay, and apparently Angel too. Don't know about Marsha. Kelley I understand keeping, but letting Tracy go was insane. She made next to nothing and basically ran the office, doing about three ( Read more... )

Jennifer is still listed on the team contact info page, while the others are not anymore. So maybe she wasn't let go? I thought tracy had said she was.

Marcia is still there, presumably because she's not FT.

With Tracy, I can understand if they were going to an automated "receptionist". That's why my mom was laid off in '01. But she did so much more than just answer phones...

Got my final paycheck today. I was wondering about that.

I never kept track of which games we'd been paid for. But I guess the last game was the day after a paycheck, so this paycheck makes sense.

I think Tracy said she wasn't sure about Jennifer but thought she was gone too. *shrug* (Frankly, I like Jennifer, but I do NOT like the way she orders things and never re-orders. And for a team I love THAT MUCH, I have an amazingly easy time NOT buying everything in the store because so much of it is so lame!)

Maybe in the morning Cam Neely, Andy Ference and Ray Ferraro will have bought their old team and saved it. Oh, and Paulie, of course. Because as long as I'm fantasizing about ex-Hawks riding into town on white horses with trumpets blaring, I might as well fantasize properly, if you know what I mean. And I think you do.

Wow, we have the same fantasy. I am so depressed.
