iPod

Okay, I'm about 5 years behind the times here but I'm finally splashing out and getting an iPod. The problem is I don't really know what I'm looking for. My 2 minutes of research tells me there's ( Read more... )

I have an iPod Shuffle I won at work a few years ago. It's not bad, 1G works out to about 120 songs but the downside is that when you have that many songs on there and you want to listen to a particular song you have to skip through all of them to find them. Otherwise I like it, I'll be taking it to Europe with me.
Dan has a Classic and it's handy to be able to organise your songs and go through it to find a particular song or band.

i have a 30gb classic it is pretty great. depends if you have a lot of music or not really. or if you plan to get more. and if you want to be able to have all your music accessible to you at once.

nanos are ok if you dont have lots of music? but shuffles seem crap cos you can't er see... anything.

I have a shuffle I got for christmas. I love it cos its so cute and small and clips on to me and really.. i don't need more than 1gb of music at a time.

Only downside is that if you want to listen to a particular song theres no screen so you can't find it easily. But for me, thats okay too. I like random music :o)

Fuck Ipods. Get a Creative. They are far sexxier and don't require stupid itunes and are simpler to transfer files to and from... in my humble opinion anyway.

I think they generally run a leeetle bit cheaper too.

I second this. I bought a Creative Zen instead of an iPod and I love it.

I agree as well. Housemate has an Ipod and hasn't used it since she got it because she's got Window XP without the service packs - which requires a legit copy... So itunes funks on her.

Far too restrictive - you should be able to treat the ipod like an external drive, just whack mp3s on it - apple forces you to jump through hoops to get it to work.

i would suggest also looking at non ipood players...
I had just as many problems with my ipood as my creative, same price, 16gb difference
