If any of you have ever thought about joining the military, don't. :P Dammit, they just keep leaving! The big deployments you expect. But the rest of the time it would be nice if they were home a lot. Oh no

My thought is that he works on a ship, and thus needs to go on such trips to train for the unexpected on a boat. That is the same reason that Basic Military Training is longer for the Navy than the Air Force; otherwise they're identical.

I wouldn't necessarily say for people to not join the military. It's just not for everyone.

I will say this, though. Anyone who does join the military has my utmost respect, as well as the men and women who stand at their side.

You hit the nail on the head- that's exactly why they go out, they need to be prepared :) I was mostly teasing, but it does get really hard. I'm just not used to living entirely alone a lot of the time yet :/ I wouldn't tell everyone not to join the military either- I was just messing around. I just had to say it because I thought it was funny that his chief said no one should join, or stay in. He says, "I got roped into it, I tell ya!" He's an interesting guy, lol.

And I have the utmost repect as well for ALL those in the military. So as a military wife, I say this to you: thank you for doing what you do every day :)
