Took my first academic test today and scored a 92. This isn't what I'd hoped for, but still pretty decent. It brings my average for this class up to 89.89, which means it should be between 90 and 95 after my next couple of quizzes. Here's hoping :).

One of my buddies up here at school just got a new laptop, which I'm using to (1) burn Mandriva 2007, (2) post this message, (3) register a coupla new domains, etc. Thus, I no longer need CD-ROMs sent up to me. Went over to the Submarine Veterans' dinner this afternoon, which was pretty cool. Met a bunch of guys who've served for quite awhile, and got a chance to take in a couple of beers. I got to go on liberty early today (around 1230), which marks the beginning of my holiday on base. It'll be off to the submarine veterans' dinner tomorrow, and most likely a bar afterwards. To all back home, I hope you're doing well, and DRIVE SAFE.

Boot camp is done... I'm at submarine school in Groton CT now. Here's a big shout out to everyone who wrote to me throughout basic training; I appreciate the letters! Things are quite a bit more relaxed here; I get liberty every afternoon once work is done for the day (unless I'm on rotation for evening work). So far, I'm enjoying life here. ( Read more... )
