Thanks to everyone who said some kind words for the Schmoo. That was one of the toughest/saddest things I've had to go through in a long time. Holding him in my arms wrapped in a blanket when they put the anesthesia doses in him was the last thing I could do for him and put me in tears for hours

*hugs* i've not lost a kitty when the kitty was still really mine, but i can imagine - i'm terrified of the days when boy and beanie leave us. and it was soooo hard for jason and me to see schmoo in his last few weeks - he was still SO sweet and good even though he didn't feel awesome. i mean, he took his pills without fighting me at all; he just sort of gave me a dirty look, took 'em, and then enjoyed pets afterwards. that's a good cat.

i don't know about your belief system about what happens after death, but i believe we'll go to heaven and get to hang out with our beloved animal friends again. i know i'll see schmoo there, along with nenny foo foo (my childhood cat).

Schmoo was loved and I think he knew that. I am deeply sorry for your loss.
