Zoloft: day 1

Apr 06, 2007 10:37

Well, the Dr. warned me that my initial reaction to the Zoloft would be increased anxiety and GI problems. She wasn't kidding. I couldn't get my head to quiet down last night. I was restless. This morning I kept bumping into the wall and door jams trying to get ready for work. I think that's more from the lack of sleep, though. I just can't focus. ( Read more... )

That, or just put off starting the Zoloft till Monday.

If you guys do stay in town, you're still welcome for Seth's birthday brunch on Sunday!

I also need to give you some full disclosure here...

I refused Zoloft. Its side-effects profile, especially for coming OFF of it, just wasn't acceptable to me.

Not trying to scare you, but I suggest you do some internet digging before you continue taking it.

Wellbutrin doesn't have the same profile, and no "withdrawal" symptoms at all.

Just FYI,

well, the zoloft is in place of the prozac b/c the dr doesn't like the side-effects of prozac. the wellbutrin will only be added if the zoloft doesn't resolve the issues (which she says is about a 50/50 shot).

Yeah, the only side effect that Prozac™ has for me is sleepiness (I take it before bed anyway), and reduced sexual desire (which balances the hyper-sexual effects of Wellbutrin).

Anyways, good luck!

Never taken it, but always good to check into stuff like Zac says... As for the visit to the folks, I personally would go with the 'start Monday' after the visit but since that isn't an option anymore then yes, cancelling in your present state might be a good idea. In the long run everyone will be happier, yes?

Prozac didn't do very well with me in the long run. When I was on prozac I would still have ups and downs. It seemed that the only thing the medication did was make them less frequent but more routine. I would get a down spell every few weeks.
