Not sure whether I mentioned before that I decided to have a small garden this year for the first time in many years. I'm mainly doing this for herbs, but I did get a couple of patio tomato plants too ( Read more... )

I'm always seeing ads for "butterfly gardens." Before you get the butterflies, you get the caterpillars. I spend too much time and effort let my garden get et by caterpillars so I do not plant "butterfly gardens" and squash every effing caterpillar I see.

Good to hear from you!

I must have a soft spot for caterpillars. Plus, I can't really say I've put a lot of effort into my little garden. Now if the caterpillars start eating everything, it may be a different story!

Oh good for you!

I miss seeing butterflies around so much. I've got lots of butterfly friendly plants in my garden in Wales and now I've finally sorted out the inside of my flat here I'm looking at redesigning my small back garden.

Gonna be lots of wildlife friendly plants out there - including herbs and veggies. Want to see how much I can cram into a small space *G*

Good luck! Your plan sounds much more ambitious than what I've done. But I figured it was better to start small and see whether I managed to take care of what I had.

I'm amazed that the puppy didn't destroy everything. The first couple of weeks I had her, she had to mouth everything. She still loves plants and leaves. I have no idea why.
