I'm leaving soon. So very soon. I picked up my check-out sheet today. The very first person I gave it to for him to sign scribbled all over it. So I went to admin and got a new one, taped it to a metal clipboard with a fold-over metal cover, then laminated the one he scribbled on, and taped that one over the good one. So this Airman Recruit goes to mast three times, essentially for not doing his job (or anything besides eat and sleep, really) mouthing off, not showing up to musters ... things that would have gotten him fired several times over in the "real" world. Blah. Hong Kong was cancelled. "Heavy seas." Psh. The Essex went on ahead and said it was too heavy for us, then went on in themselves. Must be nice to be on the flag ship.

We had swim call the other day. It's the first time it's actually gone down; they've tried a few times but we always had to cancel it for one reason or another. It was nice, they just put down the stern gate and we had 30 minutes to go swim around in the ocean. Everybody was complaining about jellyfish, but they didn't really bother me. I chose to do it on top of the mast in Okinawa, since they couldn't get me in a huey like I asked (stupid doodie-head marines) and we had to leave before I could do it on one of the mountains around Sasebo.
