The Bible like you mentioned was made and written by men, who thought that the world needed something to believe in and seek comfort in and also they thought that the world needed some rules and regulations(the ten commandments.) these men may have been right in their teachings, maybe there really was a god and a Jesus, but who can be really sure. and even if there was a Jesus, maybe he was just a mortal man who did good things, but not miracles, maybe he was just another human being like us, but was holy and just in the things he did and therefore became a leader for people to follow making him a person to look up to and worship. And sorry that I'm bringing a movie into this, but even though the movie is the most stupid piece of crap ever it makes you wonder, so "Dogma" states that the Bible and the people who wrote it are racist against women and people of color. Which in my opinion is true, because do you ever read of a black man being a disciple or a priest? No. Also women are held in the positions of slaves almost, Obviously ( ... )

agreed.
I think Jesus did exist, he was a man.
but the stuff he supposedly did is made up, exaggerated, stretched, and complete bullshit.
he was prolly a wise man who lead people to be good, but he never performed miracles.

...i know i shouldn't answer this, but i'm gonna. I'm a Christain but i have my own thoughts/beliefs...that's why i actually quit going to church (that and becuase most churches are very judgemental. i don't believe ppl are supposed to judge others with such malice that the church can.) see, i consider myself a christian becuase i believe in god and jesus. I'm not religious, though. I consider myself spiritual. I believe in life after death, and i believe in heaven and hell. i don't think god is going to judge us on small things, though. (such as piercings, tattoos, cussing, etc.) i think if you truely believe in jesus and understand how his death is for our redemption, then you are okay. in my life i've went through some bad times and for me, maybe not everyone though, going to the Bible really helped me focus and get myself straightened out. I don't try to push my beliefs on others, although it can happen. I've become very firm in my beliefs, even though they continue to change ( ... )

yea I know the bible didnt say that fuck was a bad word, society did. it just irritates the shit outta me because there are set rules that tell us what is right, wrong, polite, appropriate, rude, etc etc. people can't walk around naked. I dont necessarily SUPPORT walking around naked, I personally like clothes, they keep me warm and protected. but WHY WHY WHY WHY can someone not walk around in their birthday suit if they want to? as long as they arent rubbing their birthday presents on people then WHAT IS THE BIG DEAL? does it HURT people to see something they didnt want to? all these rules are only made to please people that get 'offended' by the stupidest shit. dont burp or fart. what the hell?! now they are controlling our bodies! no I dont want to SMELL it, but does it HURT me if someone does it? NO! so I dont get offended. just people getting offended offends me. i hate it, it pisses me off. just deal with it, grow up people. for example, namecalling. i called my brother something the other day and he got sooo upset by it that it ( ... )

Now I believe every person has the right to practice their own religion without intrusion from other people. I am a Christian because I have "FAITH" in God. Haas you said you were tired of that being the answer but it is true. Another point is the only Church opposed to The Da Vinci Code is the Catholics. If you are opposed to rules and regulations dealing with Christianity do not become a Catholic. Almost all things you here and are against deal with Catholosism just to tell you. I have read everything everybody has said and there were some good points made. Haas I know that everything you wrote you believe and I won't try to convince you otherwise I would just like to inform you of a couple of things.As with the naked thing. God created Adam and Eve naked and when they committed their first sin they realized that being naked is wrong, not because it was wrong to God but it was wrong to humans. BUT, one thing...

i highly doubt racism was a problem with Adam and Eve... for obvious reasons... (most obvious would be that they would likely have been the same race... other reason being that it would have been extremely lonely)
