So I wrote this poem, right? But I feel that it doesn't really work as just words, so I decided to try out this crazy voice-post thing. I swear in it, by the way. Just to warn you.

And I like your reading, too. I'm not fond of a lot of poetry readings, but this one has a bareness (BEARS) and badassery in it.

Oh, really? I always feel awkward and breathless when I read. Personally I love poetry readings- they are a good judge of whether or not I like the poetry. If I like it read aloud, I will like it even if I've never read it before. If it's something I've liked in the past, hearing it aloud is super awesome.

I guess it depends on who's reading. I really like the readings of all the people at the local poetry group, for example- and Jeannine the Awesome Teacher. But sometimes I don't like the way that more mainstream poetry is read... I'm not sure exactly what it is. I tend to like people that I know at least vaguely more, maybe because I can feel the subtleties of language/emotion in it more. It really varies depending on the poem and the poet, though.

(I think it might just be that I don't like all kinds of poetry, actually. XD)

Ah, yes, I see what you mean. And it's true, too...some poetry just lends itself more to being read aloud than other stuff does. Thoreau, Poe, Taha Muhammad Ali, Ginsberg...these lend themselves to being spoken aloud. Others, not so much. I find that I don't like poetry that doesn't work out loud.

Unequaled. Its a word I just adopted and thought it might make a swell fit for my reaction to your poem. You continue to blow me away, since I can't help but compare myself at your age, and can't imagine being this expressive or creative then.

Thanks for keeping me in the loop. I love reading your new poetry. You amaze me more each time.
