It was pretty (hella) cool. I'll post a more thorough summary later, but suffice it to say for now that I checked out the campus last Thursday and Friday and talked to a ton of people in the History department about what it's like, the intangibles of admissions, etc. It was (hella) productive and quite fun.

Professor McKee told me my GRE scores were excellent, and that they'd be weighted more significantly than GPA. Apparently, selection comes down to how much of a case on paper the department can make to the bureaucrats for funding a prospective student (and no students are admitted without funding).
