Seriously late in the night, Caroline sent Jake a text, missing him something terrible and wanting to make sure he knew that.

Tyler had still been shaken up about his uncle Mason and Caroline's involvement when Stefan showed at his house early in the morning. It was so obvious this guy was a vampire that Tyler could've kicked himself for not noticing before, especially the way he was showing off his powers while trying to persuade Tyler not to go with these werewolves. But then Jules had called from Caroline's phone and all arguing had to end. Pissed as he was about Mason, Tyler had never wanted to hear his friend scream like that. Stefan had been beyond pissed and called Damon to help them get her back.

Tyler still couldn't believe Jules wanted to trade him for Caroline. It was like he'd fallen asleep in the middle of a really bad movie and Tyler was sick of the resulting nightmare. Knowing Jules had said she was bringing her pack to town for him to meet, Tyler had insisted on calling in someone other than another murderous vampire to assist him and Stefan in making the exchange. Even if it kind of sucked considering what had not really happened the

Jake considered ignoring the stupid phone what with him really having no interest in hearing what anyone had to say. He didn't know the number though and after a moment he picked it up. "Jake here."

"Hey, it's Tyler Lockwood, you know, Caroline's...visitor?" Tyler didn't know if friend was appropriate after he'd kissed her and she'd yelled at him and then he'd raged out the next day. But it counted for something that he was trying here, right?
