I don't know what to do. I work at stupid Target and I really don't think to highly of the place. I need money over the summer if I ever want to save up enough to move out. Right now, I work Saturdays and Sundays (every weekend), but I don't close, just morning or mid-shift. The thing is, at Target "closing" is staying till about 1:30-2:00 in ( Read more... )

Work at an auto parts store!!! you could give me discounts and learn everything about cars you ever wanted to know! But seriously, theres like Publix where closing is 11, maybe 12..But if you dont like target, dont work at Publix. Go around to small doctors offices and see if they need someone to file stuff..Thats what Sarah from Science Research did for a while...

problem with starbucks is if i work there, the magic will be taken out of it. I will most likely hate the place b/c of the customers (ask Jenny what we witnessed on Monday when we went - stupid, selfish customers) and then i wouldn't want to be at starbucks anymore, and i wouldn't be able to, cause then they'd be like "can you work today, since you obviously have nothing better to do then go out and get coffee and sit around on your ass for a few hours?" (Gosh, for never having worked there, I certainly have a huge pisture of what it would be like, lol!) So, yeah, starbucks would have to be out. If only that eye doctor's office thing didn't fall through for me...dammit.

Dan works at starbucks and gets FREE COFFEE, a pound a week, plus all you can drink at work! OO!! Start a lemoade stand! I'm sure people would pay for some freshly squeezed lemonade!

Funny, I'm in a similar situation except I get paid $5.15 an hour to rip tickets and yell at people who bring in their own snacks into the theatre. It sucks, but your place definetly gets more business.
Here's what I have learned (I get off of work at 1 on Saturdays)...it sounds a lot worse to work late than it actually is. It still sucks, though. You should definetly look up a new job and then MAKE SURE THAT YOU HAVE IT and THEN quit Target.
Like the line in Fight Club says, "You are not your job"...but your job is part of you. Without one during the college years, you're SOL.

well. just give up ur free time and make more money and save it like a pig. kelly its a harsh world and u staying home tues and thurs are great. but then again. u could be earning lots of moolah on those days off. if u dont want to close a lot, tell them u are willing to do it once in awhile but u have class and tests and u absolutely cant do it on certain nights they ask. its just not an option. be stubborn and put ur foot down! i kno u can do it.

you want me to work weekends...and tues and thurs!!!! I luv you ashee, but ur crazy! I'm gonna keep it how it is right now until the summer starts.
