Don't build your own computer if you need a new one fast. This is a process that can be very time consuming over a long period.

I actually ran into this recently when my GF's dad offered to help build me a computer since my old one is more or less kaput... except that it would take weeks and cost more money than just buying one, so we just bought one and are having it shipped so it can get to me before September 1st when I have to move.

Speaking of which, is your garage offer still good for my car? I might just take you up on it if it is.

Take weeks? Yes.

Cost more? Depends. If you get a low low end prebuilt shitty Dell, then yes. But - with the specs my computer has, it'd take about $300 more to get the same thing from a prebuilt package.

My uncle actually is storing his old car there now unfortunately. >_

NewEgg.com is my friend.

So far based on my experience with newegg I'd give them an 8 out of 10. Prices are good and the quality is as well, but one of my orders took over 3 days to process (for a simple cable).
