I might have to give bell peppers another shot. I don’t like them raw, but when I have them cooked in something like the black bean soup I just made for lunch I don’t get the aftertaste I don’t like. Just finished up my first day at the new part time job at a bookstore and so far enjoying it. The day flew by and my feet hurt, but I suspect that's since my last job was a desk job where I was sitting down 90% of the day. I'll get used to it ( Read more... ) -

So things are staring to look up on my end. Staring a part-time job at a bookstore on Wednesday, and though it doesn't pay much it's something. Helps that the cost of living her is way lower than in Boston so my dollars go further ( Read more... ) -

And the final act of the emotional roller coaster today was stepping out to get some milk and on the way back realizing I either lost or left my keys inside. Eventually someone was leaving the building so I managed to get into the hallway and since I did take my phone with me I phoned maintenance guy and he showed up to let me in ( Read more... ) -

Turns out Omurisu is really delicious, though I kinda messed up the omelet part. Oh well.
I've also made more progress on writing project in the last week than I have in over a year.

Short of something unexpected happening I think I'm now on track to getting a new apartment. I'll be paying the rent but I am getting help for the first/last/security since my tax refund was supposed to help with that until my car broke down. So today at work started with cramps and the power going out in the entire office for about an hour. We still could work off our laptops' batteries but pretty much as everyone was running around likes chickens with their heads cut off I just plugged into my laptop and kept at what I'd been doing from the start that took me off the phones anyhow.
