Concerts this year...ehh, The Fainting Lady Tour w/ Ladytron and The Faint. There weren't too many shows rolling thru my city this yr that I cared to see. There were some goods ones (Santogold, Peaches) in Austin, but I was always broke.
This year I saw Metallica, Balkan Beat Box, and Depeche Mode. DM was definitely the best. Worst show was Everclear a few years ago in Baltimore. Not planning to see any bands in the near future but I would really love to see Queens of the Stone Age. And I can fumble through a few cords on the guitar but not in a band.
I've seen one live show this year: Richard Cheese and Lounge Against the Machine. It's his last tour (or so he says) so I dragged my ass out to see him. It was worth it.
I've seen RUSH three times, and every single time it was fucking awesome.
I don't really like to see live music unless it is someone that I absolutely fucking love, so I don't see much. And I live in the Live Music Capital of the World (heh). Go figure.
I would love to perform live. I have a decent voice, too. But I'd want to sing old grunge songs from the 90s, and I've never had a heroin habit and I don't smoke, so my voice is NEVER going to sound like Layne Staley's.
